Thome bags a big typical

Jim Thome buck 2015

Back when he was slugging homers for various Major League baseball teams, Jim Thome had to put up with a shortened deer season.

While other hunters could get in the stand come Oct. 1, Thome was often still playing ball.

One advantage of retiring from baseball is more time in the stand. And this year that has resulted in the monster bowkill pictured above.

The 190-inch typical is from Fulton County and is one of the best bowkills we’ve seen yet this month.

But there are reports of some other big typicals in the area we’ll try to track down now that deer season is in gear.

congratulations Jim! That will look real nice next to your hall of fame plaque.

When he played for the Sox he may not have been able to hunt October 1st but he was guaranteed to be able to hunt by the 4th!

Great buck, anyone know where he hunts in Fulton Co?
