BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA — Duck hunters in every flyway are indebted to Delta Waterfowl’s passionate, dedicated volunteers. They organize fundraising banquets, manage local conservation projects, host First Hunt events for new waterfowlers and provide Delta with resources to meet critical program objectives. Such efforts are essential to Delta Waterfowl’s mission to produce ducks and secure the future of waterfowl hunting for you.

In annually naming a Volunteer of the Year, The Duck Hunters Organization celebrates more than 3,800 selfless, devoted individuals across the United States and Canada who make its work possible.

“This year’s Volunteer of the Year candidates are highly committed to helping Delta make ducks, conduct cutting-edge waterfowl research and enhance duck hunting opportunities,” said Dr. Scott Petrie, Delta’s chief executive officer. “At Delta, we believe in putting back two ducks for every one you take. Our volunteers take that philosophy to the next level.”

This year’s seven finalists:

Brandon Broussard
Vermilion Chapter
Abbeville, Louisiana

Brody Thompson
Norfolk Chapter
Port Rowan, Ontario

Paul Henry
Mid-Shore Chapter
Laurel, Delaware

Taylor Hennlich
Wisconsin River Valley Chapter

Willie Gloe

The Volunteer of the Year will be chosen exclusively through online voting, so make your voice count: Visit Delta Waterfowls web site now through July 31 to view profiles of each candidate and cast your ballot.

Thanks to Lowe Boats, sponsor of Delta’s 2017 VOY Award, the winner will receive a Roughneck 1756 — a 16-foot, 10-inch, camouflaged, all-welded, all-aluminum johnboat — complete with a trailer. In addition, the winner will be profiled in the Fall Issue of Delta Waterfowl magazine.
